🇬🇷 Athens Food Guide (Non-Coffee Edition!)

Before leaving Athens, I’m rounding up all the delicious food I tried this time 🍽️ I stayed long enough to eat like a local—and pretty much covered all the must-tries! This time, I skipped Xiaohongshu and followed my professor’s recommendations 😉 (Coffee guide coming next time!) 🧁 Sweet Nolan The dessert shop by Nolan—though Nolan is a trendy fine-dining spot, their pastries are truly outstanding! Tried: Financiers New roll cake (apricot flavor) 🍑 Jar cake Coconut condensed butter cookies 🥥 Earl Grey biscuits 🍪 Everything was delicious—no regrets! 🍖 To Kafeneio A family-run Greek tavern at the foot of the Acropolis 🏛️—my Greek professor’s favorite! Huge platter for under €40 Must-tries: zucchini fritters, grilled pork/chicken, octopus 🐙 Cozy vibe, great service—perfect after visiting the Acropolis! 🍴 Nolan My go-to fine dining spot in Athens ✨ This time: P8: Cod tempura (a bit too salty 😬) P5: Apple duck—absolutely divine! 🍎🦆 (You gotta eat duck in Europe!) Teriyaki chicken (sweet and tasty) Pasta “dumplings” (creative and yummy) Overall, still a win—will return! 🥘 The Trikyklo An Airbnb host-recommended spot in Athina—super convenient and great value! Huge portions of meat 🥩 Cheap and delicious (like most Greek food 😍) Perfect if you’re staying nearby! 🍯 Stani I initially skipped it because it’s super hyped on Xiaohongshu—but my professor recommended it too! Classic old-school dairy shop 🥛 Yogurt with honey and walnuts is a must-try! 🍨 Django Gelato Athens THE highlight of my trip—ate here 4 times in a week! Best gelato/sorbet I’ve had worldwide 🌍—and the cones are crispy perfection! Not overly sweet (big win for me and my mom!) Special shout-out: the staff reserved walnut sorbet for me after I asked! 😭❤️ Greeks are the kindest! 🌟 Must-try flavors: Melon sorbet 🍈 Almond sorbet Raw & salted pistachio Walnut sorbet Smoked hazelnut Caribbean chocolate 🍫 📌 Final thoughts: Athens is a food heaven—hidden gems everywhere, generous portions, and lovely people!
