Athens is one of the most budget-friendly and delicious cities in Europe! I stayed 3 nights (a bit boring tbh), but ate extremely well. Here are local-approved spots β save this list! π π½οΈ Karamanidika Popular on Xiaohongshu and with locals! Free ham + yogurt (yogurt is great π₯, carrot sauce is sweet) Not mind-blowing but solid: eggplant salad, beef with potatoes, baked eggs in tomato ππ₯π³ πΆ β¬10-15 per person π’ Delicious Souvlaki 4.9/5 on Google β huge skewers, great value! We ordered 15 skewers (got stared at π ) β locals usually order 1-2 per person + free pita & fries Lamb kebab, pork, chicken β pork was the best! Ate 11, took rest on the plane βοΈ πΆ β¬2 per skewer π― Street Souvlaki Recommended everywhere β locals + tourists Smaller skewers but has lamb options! Try lamb skewers and wraps β tasty and variety is good πΆ β¬5-10 per person π Opos Palia Seafood + Greek classics β mixed crowd Service is super slow + opened late π΄ Grilled octopus leg & fried squid were okay, lamb was scarce Eggplant salad was decent πΆ β¬15-20 β try traditional Greek dishes here π§ Iceroll & Chatime β NOT RECOMMENDED Iceroll: No yogurt option, coconut roll was too sweet β β¬7 β Chatime: Very sweet β βZhazha Meimeiβ was loaded with topping but not special β β¬5 π¨ Bonus: Hotel Recommendation β Moxy Athens Not all Moxys are great, but this one is new and worth it! I usually stay at 5-star or luxury hotels β this 4-star surprised me Breakfast was BETTER than restaurants π Greek yogurt (4 types!), scrambled eggs, sausages, fresh pastries (sesame ring π₯¨!), good coffee & juice Paid β¬100+/night β Platinum upgrade + free breakfast included Great location β check it out! β¨ Athens = food heaven without breaking the bank πΌ Perfect for foodies who love authentic + affordable eats! #HiddenGems #TravelGreece #FoodDiary #LocalEats #AthensOnABudget #HotelRecommendation
