Greece Food Diary 📔
Three months ago, I explored Santorini, Paros, and Athens, and now I'm organizing my food inventory from those trips, noting only the best eateries. 📸 Aris Restaurant, Fira, Santorini It was quite chilly on the island for early summer, with a strong wind in the evening. We didn't have a reservation, and all the indoor seats were taken, so we decided to brave the wind and sit on the outdoor balcony. When the seafood platter arrived, it was quite a feast for the eyes. The portion was enough to leave two girls full and satisfied. The staff explained that not all seafood on the island is freshly caught from the sea, but this plate met all our expectations for grilled seafood, especially with the sunset enhancing the experience. 📸 Pelican Kipos cafe and wine restaurant, Fira, Santorini Considering that you can see the sea around every corner in Santorini, this restaurant is an exception, tucked away like a hidden gem. As soon as you enter, you're surrounded by a garden, making it perfect for chatting (or even remote working). The braised lamb my friend ordered was unforgettable. She found it a bit salty, but it was just right for me. However, the mussels were too salty. The Pita bread was the best part of the meal. 📸 Ouzeri Halaris, Paros Island A fish restaurant on the island where we requested a table closest to the water. Watching the sunset became a daily routine. I had grilled swordfish, and my friend had seafood risotto, both living up to the saying that the best food is always in someone else's pot. 📸 Fyssilanis @ sia oe, Logaras, Paros Island Our "canteen" during our laid-back days on Paros Island; no dishes, whether meat, vegetables, or seafood, disappointed us. The fried seafood was particularly good. 📸 Anna & Giorgos restaurant, Paros Island This restaurant is bustling at sunset and is primarily a meat-eating place. Skip the grilled chicken, which is dry, and go for the braised lamb, which is excellent. Cats everywhere await being fed. 📸 Archipelagos Restaurant, Naousa, Paros Island The staff, mostly warm-hearted uncles, served what might be the best mussels I had this early summer. They were salty, but so good that I wanted to drink the juice. To steki tou Ilia, Athens If there's something to miss about Athens, it might be the grilled lamb chops from this place. Someone who usually doesn't eat lamb has to say that Greek sheep are truly without a strong smell! #Greece #GreekCuisine #SantoriniFood #ParosIsland #AthensFood
