This is Athens’ oldest and most charming neighborhood, nestled right under the Acropolis. You’ll find plenty of hotels and guesthouses here, and many attractions are within walking distance — like the Acropolis, Syntagma Square, and the Ancient Agora. Super convenient! 🚶‍♀️✨ 🚫 Areas to Avoid for Accommodation: Omonia, Exarcheia, Vathi, Kolokotroni, areas near Monastiraki and Larissa/Peloponissos train stations, and the nightclub zone in Glyfada. These spots can be unsafe, especially at night! 🌟 Top 10 Must-See Attractions in Athens ✅ Acropolis – Symbol of ancient Greek civilization. The Parthenon and Temple of Athena are solemn and majestic. Go right at opening to avoid crowds and catch the best light for photos! 📸 ✅ Acropolis Museum – Located at the foot of the Acropolis. Houses real excavated artifacts and offers views of archaeological sites under glass floors. Allow 4 hours to fully appreciate it! ✅ Monastiraki – Home to Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora, Stoa of Attalos, and a famous flea market.
