π¬π· Greece Travel Guide | Athens Edition
Spent six days in total β two nights in Athens, three in Santorini, and one last day back in Athens before flying home βοΈ. This is the Athens part β feel free to copy the entire itinerary! π¨ Hotel Recommendation Stayed near Syntagma Square β perfect location! ποΈ Walkable to most attractions. π Wear sports shoes β Athens has many cobblestone paths, and the Acropolis can be slippery! βοΈ Day 1 | First Day in Athens π Took the X95 bus from the airport to Syntagma Square (β¬5.5/person, ~1 hour). The bus stop is easy to find right outside the airport exit. π΄ Headed straight to the famous Tylixto β a bit of a queue but worth it! Lamb pita π―: Sausage + spicy sauce, rich flavor Pork pita: Freshly sliced meat, juicy and savory (Both β¬5 each β absolutely delicious!) π After lunch, explored nearby: Local markets & Ancient Agora (great for photos πΈ) Passed by churches and Hadrianβs Library β impressive even from outside! π Found a handmade souvenir street near the library β perfect for gifts! Also tried Greek gyros, pork/lamb chops, and yogurt ice cream β must-tries! π Day 2 | Acropolis Adventure π« Booked Acropolis tickets online in advance β aim for 6 or 7 AM to avoid crowds! πΊ Took a taxi to the Acropolis Museum at 3 PM (β¬8.8, 10-min ride). Bought student ticket on-site for β¬10 (theoretically only for EU under-25, but they checked my passport and allowed it!). π± Scanned QR codes in the museum for audio guides β used Google Translate for text versions. π Spent about 2 hours there β perfect length! π» Pro tip: Use the museum restrooms β the ones at the Acropolis entrance have no toilet seats (true story π ). β² From the museum, itβs a 3-minute walk to the Acropolis entrance β super convenient! ποΈ Explored nearby gift shops but didnβt buy anything β better options elsewhere. π Watched the sunset, took photos, then headed to a bar for drinks after descending. #Foodie #Travel #Greece #EuropeTravel #StudyAbroad #AncientCivilizations #Athens #Santorini
