🇬🇷 How to Spend 2 Days in Athens & Save Over €100 🏛️💶

While Athens isn’t packed with attractions, the routes are pretty fixed. I’ve planned it all out for you — main ticket prices and routes are in Figure 2️⃣! Day 1: 📈 Red Route Day 2: 📉 Blue Route If you’re really short on time, just follow Day 1. Lots of souvenir shops along the way — perfect for some shopping 🛍️! 🎯 Must-Visit Spots (Only 4 Needed) 1️⃣ Acropolis – Book tickets in advance 📅, enter at your reserved time. 2️⃣ Acropolis Museum – Also book ahead; visit before the Acropolis. 3️⃣ Panathenaic Stadium – Buy tickets on-site. 4️⃣ Sunset – Choose either Lycabettus Hill or Philopappos Hill 🌅. Other sites are optional — many are overpriced and not worth it. 🏛️ About the Acropolis Includes the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Parthenon, Theatre of Dionysus. Don’t overthink the route — just follow the crowd 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️. The area is compact, like seeing the main halls and gardens of the Forbidden City. Enter about 2 hours before closing. The ruins are mostly open-air — use your imagination to rebuild what you saw in the museum! 🏢 Acropolis Museum Tips Go before 10 AM, and visit before the Acropolis. Scan QR codes for audio guides or watch related films beforehand 🎧🎬. Learn how sculptures, steles, and columns were originally placed on the Acropolis. For example, the Parthenon’s pediments show the birth of Athena and her contest with Poseidon — the stories are fascinating! 🏟️ Panathenaic Stadium Built 2,500 years ago — hosted the first modern Olympics and the 2004 Athens Games. Go for a run 🏃 — that €10 ticket feels worth it here! 🌅 Sunset Viewing Philopappos Hill: Walkable from the Acropolis. Pass by Socrates’ Prison 🚶♂️ — all free! Lycabettus Hill: A bit farther. Free entry, but the cable car is €10 one-way/€13 round-trip. Or hike up in ~20 mins. The viewing platform is small and can get crowded. I recommend Philopappos — great value and easy to access.
