🚇 Transportation Tips: Airport to city: Metro ticket 🎫 – €9/person City travel: 24-hour pass – €4.10/person Unlimited rides on metro, buses, and trams – cheap and convenient! 🗺️ One-Day Itinerary: Focus on the highlights! Acropolis Museum → Acropolis → Ancient Agora → Syntagma Square → Lycabettus Hill for sunset 1️⃣ Acropolis Museum Right at the Acropoli metro station! 🏛️ Book tickets in advance + get an audio guide (otherwise, it’s hard to understand!). Crowds are common – arriving a bit later than your booked time is usually fine. Must-see: Parthenon marble sculptures Caryatids (maiden columns) Parthenon reconstruction model on the top floor 2️⃣ Acropolis 5-min walk from the museum. Bring water + sunscreen – avoid midday heat & strong wind! 🌞💨 Must-see: Parthenon (symbol of ancient Greek civilization) Erechtheion (with the famous Caryatids) Theatre of Dionysus & Odeon of Herodes Atticus 3️⃣ Ancient Agora & Roman Agora The heart of ancient Athenian public life ❤️. Walk downhill from the Acropolis or take the metro to Monastiraki. Must-see: Temple of Hephaestus (best-preserved Doric temple) Stoa of Attalos (Agora Museum) Roman Agora & Tower of the Winds (nearby) 4️⃣ Syntagma Square Metro to Syntagma – free to explore! I even stumbled upon a large protest – very lively! 🎉 Must-see: Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (hourly, most grand at 11 AM) Ermou Shopping Street nearby 🛍️ 5️⃣ Lycabettus Hill for Sunset If you have energy, go here for a full view of the Acropolis!
