🇭🇺 Budapest's Hidden Spanish Gem
🍽️ Pata Negra Pest This place is right next to a church. I walked in without a reservation. On my way to the Chain Bridge along the river, I stumbled upon it and decided to walk in. The owner is from Seville. I felt lucky 🍀 – the food was great, and I didn't leave hungry for my night cruise on the Danube. 🚢 🦆🐻 Duck Breast with Apple The duck breast was perfectly pan-seared and served on apple slices 🍎, with a raspberry balsamic reduction around it. The tangy-sweet sauce cut through the richness of the duck. The meat was just right, and the last bite left a sweet apple aftertaste. 🍤 Classic Garlic Shrimp A staple Spanish tapa – fresh, butterflied shrimp marinated in garlic oil. The spiciness was subtle, but the oil was incredibly fragrant, likely from frying the shrimp shells as well. I ordered two plates of bread 🥪 to soak up the oil – it was heavenly! 🍖 Serrano Ham Thin slices of Spanish Serrano ham, full of flavor and with a more substantial texture 🍇. Since I ordered wine, I had to get a plate of this to pair with it. 🐟 Salmon Tartare A healthy and classic choice for drinking, common in both French and Spanish taverns 🥂. The portion was small but packed with layers of flavor, making it hard to stop at just one spoonful. 💰 Pricing Four dishes, two glasses of wine, and two types of bread came to a total of €52.68. I thought the price was fair – not cheap but not overpriced for Budapest. 😮 As I was finishing, I noticed photos on the wall of the owner's past awards. #FlavorfulCities #Budapest #BudapestTravel #BudapestCuisine #BudapestRestaurants #Hungary #SpanishFood #TapasBar
