Amazonia Style: Peruvian cuisine with full Amazon rainforest vibes 🌴🍃 📍 Location: Washington, DC 1️⃣ Appetizer: Pan con Chicharrón A Peruvian-style sandwich with fried pork belly or catfish, served in a crispy fried bun 🐖🐟 📝 Street food vibes! The red onions are tangy and crunchy, cutting through the richness. I preferred the fish—cleaner taste and great texture! 2️⃣ Skewers: Anticuchos Grilled skewers with beef heart, chicken, or fish 🍢 Two sauce options: red (like spicy Mexican salsa) and white (creamy mayo-style) 📝 Tastes like a night at a Chinese BBQ stall—just needed some cumin! 😉🔥 3️⃣ Main Course 🐟 Patarashca: Fish steamed in a banana leaf with herbs and spices The fish of the day was a white fish (similar to sea bass) in a curry-like sauce. Served with small sweet plantains hidden under the leaf—visually so Amazonian! 🍃🎋 🍝 Fusilis: Spiral pasta with beef 📝 Italian-Peruvian fusion! Moist cake + melting ice cream = rich, sweet, chocolatey goodness.
