🇺🇸 28 Days in the US ①|Driving into a Real-Life Cartoon
What’s it like to drive straight into an animated world? ✨ After a 13-hour flight from Sydney to LA, we picked up our car and began a 7-hour road trip toward the Grand Canyon. Our first day was spent cruising along the legendary Route 66—America’s “Mother Road.” We passed through Barstow → Kingman → Seligman, and stayed overnight in Williams. Every stop felt like stepping into Cars or a Barbie dreamscape, wrapped in retro charm. 🛑 Stop 1|Barstow 📍 Historic Barstow Station turned McDonald’s Pro tip: Skip the pricey cone here (almost $4 vs. AU$1 back home!). Instead, grab lunch at In-N-Out Burger 🍔—a must-try West Coast classic! We ordered the Double Cheese Burger + extra lettuce + extra toast. Juicy, fresh, and so affordable. A perfect first taste of real American burgers! ⭐ Stop 2|Kingman Don’t miss: ✔ Kingman Visitor Center – cute fridge magnets and the iconic Route 66 sign 📸 ✔ Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner – a pastel-pink retro dream 💗 (super photogenic!) ✔ A vintage 1940s car parked across the street, inside a gift shop ✔ Powerhouse Museum (skip if short on time) 🏎️ Stop 3|Seligman Welcome to the real-life inspiration for Cars! This tiny 1950s–60s themed town is bursting with colorful murals, quirky skull decorations, toy car shops, and nostalgic charm. We couldn’t stop taking pictures! 🌙 Night in Williams Dinner at Cruiser’s Route 66 Cafe, a converted 1930s gas station oozing vintage vibe. Their Full Pork Ribs are massive—perfect for two! Driving Route 66 feels like traveling through time. Each town holds stories in its neon signs, dusty roads, and friendly locals. It’s not just a road—it’s a living postcard from the heart of America. #USA #USATravel #WestCoastUSA #Route66 #GrandCanyon #RoadTrip #TravelUSA #LosAngeles #InNOut #Vibes #RetroStyle #CarsMovie #AmericanRoadTrip #Adventure #ExploreAmerica #TravelDiaries
