🇺🇸 A Full Day of Exploring Washington DC on Foot 🚶♀️💨
After walking for hours under the scorching Las Vegas sun last weekend, today’s nearly 30,000-step adventure felt like a breeze – quite literally! With comfortable temperatures and a refreshing cool wind throughout the day, exploring the nation’s capital was an absolute joy. ☀️🍃 My day started early at the National Mall, where the iconic Washington Monument stood tall against a clear blue sky. From there, I made my way to the Lincoln Memorial, taking my time to admire the stunning view of the Reflecting Pool and reading the powerful words of the Gettysburg Address engraved on the walls. 🇺🇸✨ Next up was a visit to the World War II Memorial – a beautiful and solemn tribute to the brave men and women who served. The fountains and state pillars offered a peaceful atmosphere perfect for reflection. I then strolled toward the Tidal Basin, where the Jefferson Memorial stood gracefully overlooking the water. Although it’s not cherry blossom season, the area was still incredibly scenic and photogenic. 🌸📸 Of course, no trip to DC is complete without stopping by the White House! Even from outside the gates, it was surreal to be so close to such an important symbol of American history and politics. I also spent some time wandering through the Smithsonian National Museum of American History – and yes, I saw Dorothy’s ruby red slippers! 👠 Every exhibit felt like a journey through time. As the afternoon turned into evening, I ended my walk along the charming streets of Georgetown. With its cobblestone pathways, historic brick houses, and cozy cafés, it was the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. ☕❤️ What made the day even better was the weather – slightly cloudy with a cool breeze that made walking everywhere enjoyable. Compared to the dry Vegas heat, DC in this kind of weather is a dream come true for explorers on foot. If you’re planning a trip to Washington DC, don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, and let yourself get lost in the history and beauty of the city. You won’t regret it! 🏛️🤍 #WashingtonDC #Travel #DCOnABudget #NationalMall #WhiteHouse #Georgetown #TravelDiary #USCapital #WalkingTour
