🇺🇸🤠 A Malaysian's Wild West Adventure in OKC – Part 1

This May, I was sent for work to a small city called Tulsa. On the weekend, I took a Greyhound bus to Oklahoma City (OKC) for a day trip 🚌✨. OKC is slow-paced, clean, and has attractions close together—public transport is super convenient too. I initially thought OKC was just an oil and gas town… probably boring, right? But I ended up completely falling in love in just one day! The vibe was so chill, the people were friendly, and I got a full immersive taste of Midwestern American culture 🤠❤️. 📍 National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum I took a ride-share there early to beat the crowd and the heat. The exhibits focus on the American West, cowboy culture, and Native American history and art. It was a powerful, immersive experience—really impressive in person. 📍 Lunchtime: Paseo Arts District 🧑🎨 Headed next to Paseo—a small artsy area with strong local vibes. Colorful studios and galleries line the streets. It’s not big, but super photogenic 📸. I chilled at a café, browsed some handmade craft shops, and admired the murals. 🚣 Bricktown + Water Taxi My last stop was Bricktown, one of the livelier parts of OKC. Took the famous Water Taxi ($15 per person)—totally worth it! The guide shared stories about the architecture and city history 🗺️, making it fun all the way. After the ride, I grabbed a bite and strolled along the river—so peaceful and pretty. 🏀 Paycom Center No game that day, but I still had to snap a pic at the Thunder’s home court! ⚡ 🎡 O-K-C Ferris Wheel Rode a scooter from Paycom to the Ferris wheel. It’s smaller than I expected but perfect for photos with that golden light 📸. $8 for 2-3 rounds. The “O-K-C” sign by the river is a must-shot spot with the skyline 🌆. People picnicked and relaxed in hammocks on the grass—such a cozy vibe. ⸻ 🚌 Transport Tips: Greyhound: Tulsa ⇄ OKC Uber: To the cowboy museum OKC Bus: 1-day pass available stops near all downtown attractions Lime Scooter: Fun for short rides, but a bit pricey 🛴💸 #USTravel #HiddenGems #MidwestUSA #Oklahoma #TravelGuideUSA
