From Dallas to Kansas City | OKC One-Day Itinerary for Lazy Travelers
Dallas → OKC → Kansas City EP1: Thunder City OKC – One-Day Check-In 📍 We set off from Dallas in the morning and headed north straight to OKC! Since we only planned to stay for one day, the itinerary was packed, but we also stumbled upon many unexpected surprises ✨ 🔹 Arrival Time: Noon As soon as we arrived in the downtown area, we were immersed in the playoff vibe of the Oklahoma City Thunder – the whole city was cheering for the home team, and the basketball atmosphere was off the charts! 📍 [Lunch] Culprits 🍴 This friend-recommended restaurant is near Bricktown, with a fantastic ambiance. ✅ Recommendation: Flaming Scallops 🔥 – it actually flames up! Super ceremonial + delicious. ❌ Skip: Crispy Tuna – it’s American-style Japanese food, a bit of a letdown (just not my taste). 💡 Tip: Plan to go in the evening for a more atmospheric experience! You can also take a stroll nearby after the meal. 📍 [Bricktown] A waterfront walkway in downtown OKC, a bit like a mini version of San Antonio’s River Walk! But it’s better to visit in the evening for a walk – it’s quite hot at noon and lacks a lively crowd. 📍 [Myriad Botanical Gardens] I originally planned to go, but had to pass by because I wasn’t feeling well 🥲 The architecture is really unique! It looks so soothing – it probably won’t disappoint, so I’ll definitely check it out next time! 📍 [Paseo Arts District] A niche neighborhood full of artistic charm – I also missed this (thanks to not feeling well). If you have extra time + are interested in art, be sure to look up info about it in advance! 📍 [Lake Hefner for Sunset 🌅] Absolutely stunning!! One of the most worth-visiting spots in OKC ✨ 📷 Tip: Don’t forget a telephoto lens – the light and shadow layers are amazing. 📍 The Lakehouse is great for photos/walking. 📍 If you don’t feel like taking photos, you can head straight to the nearby Hefner Grill to watch the sunset while dining – kill two birds with one stone! 📍 [Dinner] Hefner Grill 🍽 The restaurant is right by the lake – dining while watching the sunset is such a delight~ Recommended dishes: ✅ Fried calamari rings! So good you won’t stop eating. ✅ Lobster roll is also great, with a rich texture. 📍 [POP 66 - Beverage Supermarket] ⏰ Open until 10 PM The perfect spot to wrap up the day’s itinerary. It’s right by Route 66, with a huge beverage bottle at the entrance for photo ops 📸 They sell many drinks you can’t find elsewhere – great to pick up a few as souvenirs 🎁 — 📌 Summary: Even though OKC was just a stopover, it was full of surprises! 📍 Recommended Route: Arrive at noon → Lunch + Bricktown → Sunset at Lake Hefner → Dinner at Hefner Grill → Wrap up at POP 66 ✅ Basketball fans/photography lovers/foodies can all find something they love here~ EP2 | Kansas City Update Coming Soon… Stay Tuned! #Dallas #OklahomaCity #OKC #KansasCity #Sunset #StreetPhotography #USRoadTrip
