🇺🇸 Acadia National Park | Watch the Sunrise & Eat Lobster
Labor Day Long Weekend Trip to Acadia, Maine 💕💕It takes 8 to 9 hours to drive to Acadia from New York City. I recommend planning ahead before you go—otherwise, the trip will be exhausting. They check for park passes when you enter campgrounds, but if you just drive in for a quick tour without visiting any specific spots, no one will probably check (I didn’t see a formal entrance gate anyway).✨ 🌅 Sunrise Passes Sunrise passes can be reserved 48 hours in advance. I logged in right at 10 AM and got one easily—it’s $6 per car. 🚗🚗 The sunrise only has a 10-minute "highlight window," so make sure to time it right and don’t miss it. We were lucky—right after we watched the sunrise, it started raining.🌨️🌨️ 🦞 Lobster You can buy lobsters at supermarkets in Bar Harbor—$9.99 per pound, so one lobster costs around $10. 🌈🌈Bring it back to the campground, add some seasonings, and grill it over fire 🔥—the original flavor is super fresh! But the weather is humid, which makes it hard to light the firewood. It’s best to bring extra newspaper or other kindling.⛄ Bar Harbor was pretty crowded—campgrounds were full, and hotel prices had gone up a lot. People are still eager to travel!🛶 There are only one or two busy streets, lined with many lobster restaurants, plus shops selling souvenirs and clothes.🌟 We didn’t have time to go hiking, and the fog was heavy the night we arrived, so we didn’t get to see the Milky Way 🌌. Luckily, the weather was nice the next day. I’ll definitely go back when I have the chance! My first camping experience was great—it felt a bit like playing "house." Two things I’ll remember for next time: 1️⃣ Bring more camping lanterns. 2️⃣ Pack a down jacket (it gets really cold in the mountains at night…). Also, why is the sky so blue in the US 🇺🇸? I kept marveling at the beautiful blue sky and white clouds along the way 🥲. Back in China, you can only see skies like this regularly in Yunnan.🏖️🏖️ #USA #ShortTrip #Acadia #Camping #Sunrise #StudyAbroad #RoadTrip #Lobster #Maine
