🇺🇸 Arrived in the Fairy-Tale Town of Carmel!

Finally made it to Carmel-by-the-Sea to sketch! 🎨 Last time I visited, it was too rushed—just a quick stroll. This time, I came specifically to hunt for adorable cottages! I found a few houses I wanted to sketch based on recommendations, but the perfect angles required me to sit in the middle of the road 😇. Then I stumbled upon this library with blue window frames—white walls dappled with leaf shadows—and instantly knew I had to paint it! 💡 I loved the blue window frames, but my watercolors couldn’t quite capture the shade. Luckily, I had Caran d’Ache water-soluble crayons 🖍️ with me! Dipping the tip in water gave me the exact color I needed (can anyone relate to this joy??). It was another warm, sunny day of painting. Thanks to the grandmas who stopped by to compliment my work! 👵💖 This piece came together quickly, so I had time to explore the local shops afterward. Carmel is a fantastic place to browse—full of art galleries, cute文创 shops, and designer stores (though prices made my wallet cry… I spotted a hoodie for $95 😇).
