🇺🇸 Boston | What I’ve Been Eating Lately 🍽️
Took my own advice and ventured beyond my usual spots – and wow, Boston’s food scene is full of surprises! 👏 He Ma Kitchen I rarely use the term “wok hei” lightly, but here it’s REAL. The chicken gizzard with pickled long beans was stellar 🫑. Pork kidney had a strong offal taste, but the standout was the egg fried rice – simple yet mind-blowing. Sad I missed the braised pork with preserved mustard greens. 👏 Sushi by Bosso New on Newbury – claims to be “Boston’s only Japanese-run sushi spot.” 13 generous, fresh nigiri for just $38 🍣! My friend thought it was $38 for 3 pieces at first – a sign of how used we are to overpriced sushi. The wagyu was just okay, but the clam chowder korokke was unique. 🤔 Row 34 Recommended after my Neptune review, but… not even close. Everything was extremely salty – my hot lobster roll was bland below, salty on top. My friend’s fish was also oversalted. Left with two canker sores 😵. 👏 Flour Bakery The corn and jalapeño muffin is a hidden gem 🌽. Also loved their famous caramel pecan sticky bun – sweet and gooey! 👌 Läderach Stopped by after a sample – $40 for a small bag of chocolate. Tasty, but not extraordinary. For hazelnut chocolate, I prefer Ritter Sport from CVS. 👏 OTTO Pizza The mashed potato and scallion pizza is a game-changer – even the crust is delicious 🍕. Pineapple = yes, pepperoni = just okay (but my friend loved it). 👌 Dig Inn A “healthy” spot with a guilty pleasure: fried chicken burger 🍔. I order it and proudly say “I ate at Dig” (they even have Coke 😂). 👏 The Smoke Shop BBQ Their pork ribs are smoky and tender – a must-try. Heard the turkey sandwich is great too! 👏 Hanmaru Cheesy spicy pig’s feet = 💯. The pork spine and potato stew is huge – the flavor was interesting, but the meat was good. 👏 Sugar & Spice My ultimate takeout: Crispy Pork Belly Gaprow on Rice 🍚. If you like sweet and spicy, you need this. #BostonEats #BostonFood #FoodReview #HiddenGems #EatLikeALocal 🥢🔥📸
