🇺🇸 DC Food Review | Back Again at Albi! 🎉

📍 Albi, DC My boyfriend’s birthday brought us back to Albi—our most-visited one-Michelin-star spot! 🥳 We went straight for the chef’s menu: Sofra—165 per person, plus tax and service fee, totaling around 200+ per head. Not exactly cheap, but in DC, it’s definitely one of the tastiest experiences we’ve had. And we absolutely LOVE their freshly baked naan! 🫓❤️ There’s a paid parking lot right next to the restaurant—saves time hunting for street parking! 🚗💨 🍽️ Starter: Olives 🫒 and green beans 🫛—the olives were pretty bitter though… 🙅♀️ 🍽️ First Course: Caviar-topped oyster and a tomato flatbread—pretty good! The oyster was fresh, and the tomato bread was fragrant. 🦪🍅 🍽️ Second Course: Mixed vegetables with garlic cream and tomato sauce—crisp, refreshing, and one of the greens tasted a bit like shiso leaf! 🥬✨ 🍽️ Third Course: Our favorite—freshly baked naan with hummus! You tear the bread yourself and dip it into the hummus. Also served with cheese balls and fruit slices—a delicious and filling combo! We were half-full after this one. 🧀🍇 🍽️ Fourth Course: Shrimp with crispy potato slices—the potatoes were crunchy like chips and tasty with garlic cream, though a bit salty. The tiger prawns were a tad fishy—not as good as the previous dish. 🍤🥔 🍽️ Fifth Course: Grilled meat skewers with a veggie corn salad, plus two cinnamon-spiced chicken drumsticks. The lamb had great flavor but was a bit chewy—reminiscent of Xinjiang-style lamb skewers! The sauce was nice, and the corn salad had a Chipotle-like zesty kick. 🌽🔥 🍨 Dessert: Watermelon-flavored ice cream with a crispy, sweet mini cake—pretty refreshing! 🍉🍰 Have you been to Albi?
