๐บ๐ธ DC Foodie | Japanese BBQ: "American Wagyu" is a Surprise Hit! ๐ฅฉ
We first tried the $68 BBQ Omakase, which included 4 types of meat, an appetizer, and dessert. The real stars? The two kinds of American Wagyu in the set โ they totally blew us away! ๐คฏ Honestly, we liked them even more than the extra A5 Japanese Wagyu we ordered laterโฆ maybe we just donโt have the palate for the real deal ๐ We asked the server โ the two American Wagyu cuts were: โข US Mishima Wagyu coulotte โข US Mishima short rib Both were incredible! ๐๐ซ The coulotte is leaner with a beefier texture, almost like thick, premium tongue โ actually better than the actual tongue we ordered! The short rib is richer and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Highly recommend trying both! PS: The set comes with 5 slices of each. We added an extra order of short rib (pic 7) which came with 7โ8 slices. We also tried the A5 Japanese Wagyu (strip loin) โ super tender and fatty, almost too rich to enjoy in large amounts. Eating it with rice helps balance the richness. Personal preference? American Wagyu wins โ great beef texture + flavorful marbling, plus better value! ๐ฏ Dessert in the set was amazing too! ๐ฐ We also ordered the bread in pic 11 โ delicious but calorie overload ๐๐ฅ We got rushed out after 1.5 hours โณโฆ pretty busy on weekends, so make a reservation! A 20% service fee is auto-added. Itโs pricey, but perfect for a celebration ๐ฅ Love, Makoto 200 Massachusetts Ave NW Suite 150, Washington, DC 20001 #WashingtonDCFood #DCBBQ #JapaneseBBQ #Wagyu #AmericanWagyu #Yakiniku #BestBBQDC
