🇺🇸 DC Restaurant Week Find: A Surprisingly Awesome Belgian Gem! 🇧🇪
The Sovereign in Georgetown—affordable, delicious, and totally satisfying! 👍 Restaurant Week Menu: Appetizer + Main Course + Dessert for just $40! And every dish is a FULL-SIZE portion 🥺, exactly the same as their regular menu. No skimping—so generous! 🥗 Appetizers: I ordered the meatballs, my friend got the French onion soup. The meatballs were the star! 🍝 So flavorful, with a sauce slowly simmered with beer and mustard—so good I wanted to lick the plate! 🤤 The onion soup could rival Le Diplomate’s! Rich, cheesy, and comforting! 🧀🍲 🍽️ Main Courses: My friend had the burger—juicy patty, high-quality beef, though the seasoning was a bit mild for my taste. I struggled to choose but finally went for the mussels pot—absolutely fantastic! 🥘 Steamed in a white wine, butter, garlic, and lemon broth, a perfect match for the mussels! The bread they served had big holes, perfect for soaking up all that delicious sauce! And their fries 🍟—short, crispy, and amazing with Dutch mayo! 🍨 Desserts: A bit disappointing… maybe desserts aren’t their strong suit? The traditional waffle and raspberry sorbet were just okay. Maybe try the gelato instead! 🍦 🍺 Drinks: They offer Belgian and European imported craft beers! 🍻 Highly recommend the traditional Lambic-style beer—sour and unique! If you’re unsure, try a small pour first! 🖼️ Vibe: Cozy, dimly lit, retro bistro style—great atmosphere and super photogenic! 📸 💰 Value: If ordered separately, this meal would easily cost $50–60. Restaurant Week is totally worth it—highly recommend! Have you been to The Sovereign? What’s your favorite Restaurant Week find?
