🇺🇸 Explore Sedona Like a Local (Part 3) — Hiking Heaven 🥾
Sedona is truly a hiker’s paradise! Here’s a roundup of trails I’ve personally tried + highly recommended by locals. The four famous energy vortex sites are must-dos: Cathedral Rock ⛪️ Bell Rock 🔔 Airport Mesa ✈️ Boynton Canyon 🏞 Each offers a classic Sedona hiking experience. ⚠️ A note for summer hikers: Try to finish before 10 AM—it gets extremely hot 🥵, with high risks of dehydration and sunburn. Stay safe! ⛪️ Cathedral Rock Moderate to challenging with steep climbs. Not long, but the ascent is intense. Takes about 3 hours. The views are incredible—you might even spot twisted juniper trees! 🌳🌀 🔔 Bell Rock Three route options: Bell Rock Loop Trail: A short 30–60 min walk around the base. Bell Rock Pathway: Longer, 7.1 miles one-way. Bell Rock Courthouse Butte Loop: The most popular! 4.5 miles with mild difficulty. Circles both Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. ✈️ Airport Mesa Best known for the Airport Scenic Lookout—a famous sunset spot. Parking is $3 per day. You can also hike the Airport Loop Trail (3.3 miles, ~1.5 hours), an easy loop with great views. 🏞 Boynton Canyon A beautiful but moderately challenging 6.6-mile trail. Also features mystical twisted trees. ℹ️ Subway Cave (often recommended online) is actually an unmarked spur trail off Boynton Canyon—no need to seek it out specially. ⛰ Devil’s Bridge Trail Two routes: Start from Mescal Trailhead (highly recommended! 3.9 miles round trip, 2–3 hours). The Dry Creek Road route is wider but less scenic, with dust from off-road vehicles. 🏜 Yavapai Vista Trail Perfect if you want big views with little effort! Only 30 minutes to the top with panoramic views of Courthouse Butte + Bell Rock. Extremely photogenic! 📸✨ 🔥 Bonus Local Favorites (for those with extra time/energy): 1️⃣ West Fork Trail 2️⃣ Fay Canyon 3️⃣ Soldier Pass 4️⃣ Baldwin Trail 5️⃣ Secret Slickrock 6️⃣ Aerie Trailhead — perfect for stargazing! 🌠 #WestUSATravel #RoadTripUSA #TravelGuide #WorldTravel #Sedona
