🇺🇸 First Time in Atlanta? Follow This Guide!
We spent three days in Atlanta during Thanksgiving and maximized our City Pass while trying various Southern snacks! Day 1: Atlanta History Center Cyclorama: A massive circular painting depicting the 1864 Battle of Atlanta—absolutely breathtaking! Swan House: An elegant historic mansion featured in many films (we only saw the exterior to save money). Ticket: $27 (a bit pricey). Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Day 2: City Pass Highlights World of Coca-Cola Taste 100+ global Coke flavors! The Chinese plum soda and Thai options were great, but Italy’s "Beverly" was… interesting 😂. Georgia Aquarium Whale sharks, belugas, and more! The largest indoor aquarium in the U.S. Animal shows are a must—book in advance (included in tickets). The last show of the day usually has space. Tip: Visit in the afternoon if open until 9 PM for fewer crowds. Centennial Olympic Park Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Day 3: Civil Rights History National Center for Civil and Human Rights (included in City Pass) 1F: MLK’s manuscripts, including his Nobel Peace Prize speech (no photos). 2F: Interactive exhibits on the U.S. civil rights movement. 3F: Global human rights stories—worth exploring deeply. Auburn Avenue & MLK National Historic Site Auburn Avenue: Once the heart of the civil rights movement, now mostly quiet with closed shops. MLK Site: King Center: Chronicles his life and legacy. Ebenezer Baptist Church: Where MLK preached. Birth Home: Currently under renovation (closed). Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🍽️ Food Recommendations Mary Mac’s Tea Room: Classic Southern comfort food. Copeland’s of New Orleans: Cajun flavors. New Lan Zhou Noodle: Hand-pulled noodles and crispy sugar-oil pancakes—absolutely divine! 🏨 Accommodation We traveled by RV and stayed overnight at the Walmart in Duluth—the closest Walmart to Atlanta allowing overnight parking. #Atlanta #AtlantaFood #USHistory #TravelUSA #AtlantaGuide 🇺🇸✨
