๐บ๐ธ Hidden Gem Travel Guide: Oklahoma (Part 2) ๐ฝ๏ธโจ
Following Part 1, letโs dive into OKCโs food scene โ a mix of Latin American, Southeast Asian, and local flavors! Cafe Kacao ๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐ A popular Latin American breakfast spot! Expect long waits on weekends (up to 2 hours at 9 AM!). Finally tried it on a Monday morning. Their Huevos Rancheros (with black beans and corn tortillas) and massive pancakes are must-orders. Great coffee selection, too! โ Ma Der Lao Kitchen ๐๐ถ๏ธ๐๐๐๐๐ A buzzing Lao restaurant โ even arriving at 5:30 PM requires waiting! As a Southeast Asian food lover, Iโd never tried Lao cuisine before. Their meat dishes are meant for sharing (order multiple if youโre with a group!). Similar to Thai food: tangy, spicy, and eaten with sticky rice and lettuce ๏ผ Pho Lien Hoa ๐๐๐๐๐๐ This Vietnamese pho spot is so successful it opened a branch in Edmond! Huge portions โ I tried the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), but their classic pho broth is also rich and flavorful. Cafe Antigua ๐ฅ Said to be a sister restaurant to Cafe Kacao. Tried it after failing to get into Kacao on a weekend, but Kacao wins in both ambiance and food quality. Goro Ramen ๐ฅ Ordered a dry curry ramen โ honestly just average. But the vibe in the Paseo Arts District at night is worth experiencing! Swadleyโs Bar-B-Q ๐๐ฅ A local OK BBQ chain. Portions are huge (almost too much for light eaters!), but worth trying for authentic Midwest barbecue. ๐ป Bonus Attractions Not Mentioned in Part 1: Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge ๐๏ธ๐ About 1.5 hours from OKC โ perfect for a day trip! Hike and get up close with American bison. Donโt miss the bison burgers at nearby restaurants! Honey Lee Ranch ๐๐ค Experience real cowboy life with horseback riding in the Oklahoma countryside. Ready to eat and explore? OKC is full of surprises! #Oklahoma #OKCFood #HiddenGems #USATravel #FoodieAdventure #EatLikeALocal
