🇺🇸 Hidden Gems Travel Guide | Oklahoma (Part 2)

Following the last post, here’s a dedicated guide to the best eats in OKC: Cafe Kacao ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A super popular Latin American breakfast spot! On weekends, the waitlist can be 2+ hours by 9 AM 😱. I finally made it on a Monday morning. Their menu highlights Guatemalan and Mexican flavors—try the Huevos Rancheros (with black beans & corn tortillas) and their famous pancakes 🥞 (huge and filling!). They also offer a wide variety of coffees ☕. Ma Der Lao Kitchen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic Laotian restaurant 🍛—so popular that there’s already a wait by 5:30 PM! I love Southeast Asian food, and this was my first time trying Lao cuisine. The meats are served as small plates, so order a few to share. Similar to Thai food: tangy, spicy, and eaten with sticky rice and lettuce wraps—use your hands! 🌿 Pho Lien Hoa ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Vietnamese pho spot is so successful that they opened a second location in Edmond! 🍜 The portions are huge. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), but their classic pho broth is also incredibly flavorful. Cafe Antigua Rumor says it’s a sister restaurant to Cafe Kacao. I went here on a weekend when Kacao was packed, but I still prefer Kacao—both in ambiance and food quality. Goro Ramen Tried a dry curry ramen here 🍛, but it was just okay. Still, it’s worth visiting in the evening for the vibe—it’s located in the Paseo Arts District 🎨. Swadley’s Bar-B-Q A local Oklahoma BBQ chain 🍖. The portions are MASSIVE—maybe too much for light eaters. But if you want authentic Midwest BBQ, it’s a solid choice. 🏔️ Bonus Attractions Not Mentioned Last Time: Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge About a 1.5-hour drive from OKC—perfect for a day trip! 🐂 Besides hiking, you can see American bison up close. Some local restaurants even serve bison burgers 🍔! Honey Lee Ranch Want to experience the real cowboy life? 🤠 Come horseback riding in Oklahoma! 🐎 #Oklahoma #OKCFood #HiddenGems #StudyInUSA #NorthAmericaTravel #OffTheBeatenPath
