🇺🇸 Houston Food Review
We visited Lucky Bento V.I.P. Cuisine (Xiao Shen Yang) to try some genuine Northeastern Chinese flavors! The restaurant is cozy with limited seating — you might need to wait a bit without a reservation, but the atmosphere is clean and unpretentious. The staff wear traditional Northeastern floral aprons 🌸, which instantly sets the vibe and makes the experience memorable! 🍖 Guo Bao Rou (Sweet & Sour Crispy Pork) Crispy outside, tender inside — coated in a perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce with a hint of scallions. One bite and we were hooked! 🥇 Our top dish of the day! 🦑 Salt & Pepper Squid Tasty, but the coating wasn’t as crispy as we expected. Still, a solid choice with classic seasoning. 🥒 Shredded Pork & Cucumber with Skin Noodles (La Pi) A delicious surprise! Generous portion with a rich, savory sauce and a hint of mustard — so refreshing and appetizing. A must-order! ✨ 🥟 Three Delicacies Dumplings Filled with chives and other fresh ingredients — thin wrappers and generous filling. Tasty on their own, but even better with a dip of vinegar! 🍗 Sour & Spicy Chicken Gizzards Bold and tangy with a noticeable kick — perfect with rice! The gizzards were chewy and not gamey at all. Highly recommended for those who love strong flavors! 🔥 Overall, the dishes are flavorful, hearty, and seriously satisfying — ideal for anyone craving authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine. Next time, we’re trying: Sauerkraut with Pork Belly Hot Pot Steamed Fresh Fish Can’t wait to dig into a warm pot of suan cai bai rou with a bowl of rice! 🍚🔥 📍 Lucky Bento V.I.P.
