Houston | Steam Dumpling
I’ve been here twice now, and it’s already my go-to whenever I’m craving dumplings or noodles! Located in Katy, the restaurant is spacious and clean 🧼. While the dumplings aren’t the cheapest, you can definitely tell they’re handmade — thin yet chewy wrappers, and just the right amount of filling. 🌟 Highlights: Lamb Shaomai 🐑 – Finally found a place that serves these! The lamb flavor is authentic, with a hint of carrot, and they’re juicy with every bite. Not quite like what you’d get at a Hui Muslim restaurant in China, but a delightful surprise here in the U.S.! Shrimp & Pork Steamed Dumplings 🍤 – The shrimp tastes fresh, not like those long-frozen ones. A real treat! Vegetable Steamed Dumplings 🥬 – Light, flavorful, and perfect for balancing out richer dishes. Beef Noodle Soup 🍜 – Tastes just like the classic version from back home! The noodles are fresh and springy (likely machine-pressed), and the portion of beef is generous. You can even pay a little extra to add more noodles — great for sharing! Cold Jelly Noodles & Braised Beef 🥢 – Both use the same tasty seasoning — simple but satisfying! 😐 Just Okay: Crispy Fried Pork – Not bad, but not memorable. 🏠 Steam Dumpling 📍 Katy, Houston #HoustonEats #HoustonFood #SteamDumpling #DumplingLover #ChineseFood #HoustonDining #KatyEats #ComfortFood #HandmadeDumplings
