🇺🇸 I Prefer Washington DC Over New York!
During this US trip, we visited three destinations: New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. My first impression of DC was that it’s quiet, clean, tidy, and very livable. ✅ First, the metro stations are super clean 🚇, not crowded at all—totally different from NYC! ✅ I also prefer low-rise buildings with plenty of green spaces 🌳. DC feels open and free, not overwhelming like Manhattan. Even Central Park in NY didn’t impress me much compared to DC’s greenery. ✅ Most importantly—safety! We visited the Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial around 10-11 PM 🌙, and it felt just as safe as back home. Not a single homeless person in sight, no weird smells, and friendly police everywhere. Safety rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! There was a little incident though—we got lost twice at the same intersection while driving to Lincoln Memorial at night 🚗. The police pulled us over. Knowing US cops carry real "biubiu" 🔫, we cooperated fully. The officer just asked why I didn’t stop completely and requested my ID (which was back at the hotel). I showed a photo of my passport on my phone 📱, explained I was a lost tourist, and he kindly gave us directions! 😭 In New York and Philly, we spent a lot on museum tickets, but in DC—almost everything is FREE! 🎉 There are so many museums you can’t even finish them all. The architecture is beautiful, and the vibe actually reminded me of the UK 🏛️. 😄 Of course, I’m only comparing city centers here. Three days per city is just enough for a quick taste, but still—DC is totally worth it!
