🇺🇸 International Student Comfort Food
As a student from Northeast China, I’ve been missing authentic Northeastern lunch boxes so much! Yard BBQ in Rowland Heights is LA’s first spot to offer this style of AYCE lunch box, and it’s truly become my happy place 🥹 They’re open until 11 PM every day — perfect for grabbing a meal after class when you don’t feel like cooking. Over 30 dishes for just $15.99, and no tips required! 👉 Grab a plate and serve yourself — the flavors are just like back home, not like typical “Chinese-American” takeout. You’ll find classics like Northeastern-style fried pork slices, scrambled eggs with cucumber, crispy meatballs in sauce, red-braised pork, and I’ve heard they sometimes even have guobaorou! They also have a nice variety of pickles and sides. Dishes are replenished fresh, and if it’s not too busy, you can even request something special! The menu rotates daily, so you won’t get bored. My favorites: 🌶️ Spicy diced chicken — crispy outside, tender inside, numbing and addictive! 🍚 Stir-fried chicken hearts and crispy meatballs in sauce — both savory and perfect with rice. 🥩 Stir-fried pork and red-braised pork — made with real, well-marbled pork belly. They also take party tray and group orders — can cook all kinds of cuisines! Honestly, eating here costs less than cooking for yourself. ✨ Yard BBQ Lunch Box 📍 1700 Batson Ave, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 #LAFoodGuide #LifeInNorthAmerica #InternationalStudentLife #RowlandHeightsEats
