šŗšø Irvine Near LAļ½Got to Try Fresh Live Octopus from Korea!
Iāve always heard people say, āYou havenāt truly experienced Irvineās Korean food if you havenāt been to this place!ā š The other day, my friends and I were reminiscing about our college days when weād go to Ktown late at night for live octopus. So I did a quick search and found out this spot actually serves itāhad to check it out immediately! ćLive Octopusć The star of the show! š They have a fish tank at the front, and the octopus is freshly caught. The staff mentioned itās imported directly from Korean waters~ Iād heard it might not be available every day, so I made sure to call aheadāwouldāve been so sad to miss it! The octopus is cut into small pieces, drizzled with sesame oil, and itās still moving when servedāso bouncy and fresh it even sticks to the plate! š² The texture is incredibly chewy and satisfying. They provide a special dipping sauce, but honestly, itās amazing even withoutāso pure and delicious! ćCold Buckwheat Noodlesć Perfect for beating the summer heat! š We also ordered the triple beef intestine combo, so the chilled buckwheat noodles with radish, mustard, and green onions were super refreshing and cut through the richness perfectly. ćTriple Beef Intestine Comboć A signature dish here! Iāve always loved beef intestine mixes, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it in Irvineāitās something you usually only see at super authentic Korean spots. The small intestine is rich and fatty, the large intestine is chewy, and the tripe is crispy and bouncy. Grilled on the iron plate with chili powder and scallionsāso aromatic! 𤤠We also had rice balls to soak up all the delicious juices from the grill~ Absolutely incredible! The rice balls were a fun surpriseāthey were even amazing with the sweet and sour sauce from the octopus! I definitely want to try making this at home! During peak hours, I noticed the place was full of Korean customersāalways a good sign! š This restaurant is also famous for its sundae (Korean blood sausage) and sundae soup, plus a variety of seafood dishes~ Canāt wait to come back and try more!
