๐บ๐ธ JHU Undergraduate Diary: Seafood Experience at DC's Fiola Mare ๐ฆ
Fiola Mare โ a popular seafood spot in Washington DC! ๐๏ธ ๐จ๐ณ Service: Impeccable and super friendly! The staff warmly guided us, offered to take photos ๐ธ, and checked in to see if we enjoyed the dishes. Really attentive! ๐ซ ๐ฝ๏ธ Food: The menu changes daily ๐๏ธ, and the seafood is fairly fresh. Lobster dishes were delicious ๐ฆ, but the sashimi was just okayโIโve had better back in Shenzhen. The seafood tower didnโt quite suit my palate ๐ผ; the flavors were inventive, probably great for those who enjoy Euro-Asian fusion cuisine. Some items, like the iced fish sashimi, felt a bit too adventurous for me. ๐ง๐ I usually love unique flavor combinations, but thereโs a difference between uniquely delicious and uniquely strange ๐ โฆ The sashimi didnโt win me over, and for the price, it felt a bit overrated. ๐ธ ๐ Ambiance: Nice waterfront views ๐, comfortable indoor temperature, and the decor was clean and elegant. โจ ๐ Final Thoughts: Maybe my standards are higher since returning from China ๐โ๏ธ, but some of the novel flavors here felt more like novelty than nuance. Itโs a nice spot for Instagram photos ๐ทโฆ but a word of advice: skip the seafood tower, skip the seafood tower, skip the seafood tower! ๐ซ๐ผ Have you been to Fiola Mare?
