🇺🇸 Just arrived in Baltimore! ✨
When people hear “Baltimore,” many might first think of its reputation for crime. If it weren’t for Johns Hopkins University, I probably wouldn’t have come here either. But after arriving, I discovered so much beauty here that deserves to be seen. 📣 Bet you didn’t know—this is where the U.S. national anthem was born! In 1814, Francis Scott Key was inspired during the Battle of Baltimore at Fort McHenry when he saw the American flag still flying amid the smoke and wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner," which later became the national anthem. Learning this history adds a rich layer of meaning as you explore the city. 🚘 Driving through Baltimore, you’ll see tidy streets lined with reddish-brown buildings. Unlike D.C.’s grandeur or New York’s hustle, Baltimore is quiet and relaxed, with its own unique charm. The weathered brick buildings carry a deep sense of history—a blend of rugged port-city character and delicate architectural beauty. Every corner feels like a vintage painting. You’d never associate this place with poverty, drugs, gangs, or discrimination. 👉 Be sure to visit the historic waterfront district! Stroll along the long pier, watch the shimmering water and swaying boats. As dusk falls, the area comes alive with the rich aroma of seafood chowder and the delicious taste of blue crab—a true culinary gift from this port city. 🎈 On the day I left Baltimore, the red-brick buildings grew faint in the rearview mirror, but the memory of the sea breeze mixed with the scent of coffee, and the golden sunset over the Inner Harbor, has stayed with me ever since. 💛 #DailyLife #LifeInBaltimore #BaltimoreEats #WaterfrontDistrict #Travel #TravelGuide
