🇺🇸 LA Revisited After 10 Years — It’s All About Lines & Meals
Disclaimer: Just my personal take — ranked in order of love ❤️ 🍣 Temaki Society Our last meal — a new spot with <100 Google reviews yet blew us away. Tiny, no-frills, but top-tier fresh hand rolls. Betting this place will blow up soon. 🥯 Courage Bagels Expected hype over salmon roe, but the bagel itself stole the show — crispy outside, chewy inside. Better than Boichik, worth the 30-min wait. 🍖 Jincook First meal back — a Sun Nong Dan dupe without the price tag. Braised beef ribs under $70, flavor on point. Definite return spot. 🍛 Red Rock (Sawtelle) Used to ignore it, now it’s packed. Waited 1h 40min on a Saturday — signature beef bowl & omelet rice were good, but not worth that wait. Togo only. 🌮 Holbox Wrote about it separately — fine if you’re near USC, wouldn’t queue again. 🧴 Elorea Perfume-themed café — cute but pricey ($60 for a travel spray). Coffee was meh, probably won’t last. ☕ Great White Overhyped. Waited 2hrs before — food’s average, vibes are very white, plus past controversy. Not going back. Coffee stops: Stereoscope (Sight Glass vibes), Maru Espresso Bar (like Saint Frank). Good, but not worth special trips. Old spots revisited: Melo Melo, (boba-less), Quarters BBQ ($150 & still hungry — never again), Jinjoo Grill (not as good as before). Porto's bakery haul on the way out — always reliable. Verdict: New spots shine, old spots coast on nostalgia. Probably sticking to the newcomers next time ✌️ #LArevisited #LAfoodie #FoodLines #NewVsOld #TemakiSociety #CourageBagels #Jincook #RedRockLA #HonestEats #EatLA #10YearsLater #FoodRanking #LAchanges
