🇺🇸 Los Angeles BBQ – Magal BBQ in Ktown 💗

A BBQ spot I’ve visited many times! When you come to Ktown, everyone knows Kang Ho-dong—but the waits are long, and sometimes the meat gets overcooked because staff are too busy 🔥 Dining there feels more like a loud, lively party vibe. But Magal BBQ feels more calm, relaxed, and steady—quiet, unhurried, and just as delicious. 📍 Magal BBQ (마포 갈매기) in LA’s Koreatown During lunch, I noticed Korean moms and elders coming in one after another—tells you how highly locals regard this place 👵🏼👴🏼❤️ It far surpasses Kang Ho-dong in my book. Kang Ho-dong has a younger, rowdier energy, but service can be inconsistent. Here, the meat is well-marinated, tender, and grilled perfectly by attentive servers! If you struggle with ordering, go for a combo. If you’re with a group, add the volcano fried rice! 💛 Beef Combo – Comes with beef soup and several cuts of meat. All delicious! We got the small size—more than enough for two people (leftovers and full bellies!). 💛 Volcano Fried Rice – Also super tasty 😋 Combo + this rice = huge portions. We consider ourselves big eaters, but we couldn’t finish—better for 3–4 people. After BBQ, if you want dessert (especially in this heat!), I recommend ice cream 🍦 Head to nearby Mumu Bakery Cafe – a favorite ice cream spot, though choices are limited (often just milk or Earl Grey). You can ask for a sample before deciding! #LABBQ #KtownLA #KoreanBBQ #LAFood #LADining #MagalBBQ 🥩✨🔥
