🇺🇸 Must-Try Restaurants in Houston! Ate 8 meals in 3 days
1️⃣ AFURI Houston Heights Loved their yuzu ramen since my Japan days! 🍜 Prefer the tsukemen (dipping noodles) — richer layers of flavor! Must-order sides: Karaage chicken, fried meatballs, and cucumber salad — refreshing and appetizing! Definitely coming back! ✨ 2️⃣ Maad Lamb Cuisine Their lamb is seriously fragrant! 🐑 Cozy and clean vibe, perfect for catching up with friends over drinks. 🍻 Don’t miss the hand-held lamb chops — so tender! 3️⃣ Yin Ji Chang Fen Highly recommend the “Zha Liang” rice roll — perfect with congee! 🍲 Also loved the bouncy curry fish skin and surprisingly crispy-juicy fried chicken wings 😋 4️⃣ Hẻm A viral Vietnamese seafood spot! 🍤 All their scallop prep styles are delicious, but the salted egg yolk fried gizzards are EVERYTHING! Drink options are a bit limited, but totally worth it — I come here every Houston visit, even if there’s a line! 🥹 5️⃣ Arco Seafood Restaurant Recommended by a Cantonese friend who grew up in Houston — you know it’s legit! 👍 Can’t go wrong with anything here — even their blind orders impress. Dim sum and seafood are even better than what I’ve had in LA! 🦀 6️⃣ House of Bowls Cheap, huge portions, great for sharing with a big group! 🍲 Their dry-fried beef ho fun is super aromatic, and peanut butter toast makes a perfect dessert. Classic Hong Kong cafe vibe — service is meh, but the flavors make up for it! 7️⃣ Lucky Bento V.I.P. Cuisine Specializes in Northeastern Chinese food — portions are HUGE! 😮 The auntie who runs the place is super warm and welcoming~ Must-try: pickled cabbage with pork (not too sour), sautéed large intestine, and “Di San Xian” — authentic and affordable! 8️⃣ Be More Pacific Filipino cuisine at its finest! 🇵🇭 Their fried fish is my fave — crispy outside, tender inside, perfect with rice 🐟 BBQ skewers are sweet and savory — great with garlic fried rice or a cold beer! 🍻 💬 Honorable mentions: So many more spots I wanted to try… Guess I’ll just have to come back! 😉 #Houston #FoodDiary #HoustonEats #FoodieRecs #AsianFoodHouston #TravelAndEat #FoodLover #EatLikeALocal
