šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Oklahoma City | High-End Japanese Restaurant Review

Today I’m reviewing a Japanese restaurant—the whole place feels so upscale, it’s hard to believe such a beautifully designed spot with such exquisite dishes exists in our little "village"! šŸ˜ I’ll introduce the dishes in order: appetizer → small plates → mains. 🦪 Oyster Platter: The oysters were topped with either tomato or what seemed like a green vegetable sauce. Super fresh and sweet! Served with dramatic dry ice effect and a mini bottle of Tabasco. 🧊 If I had to nitpick, maybe they were a bit too small—each was just one bite. Still highly recommended! 🄦 Korean-Style Fried Cauliflower: Lightly battered and fried, almost like tempura! The crispy texture paired with a slightly spicy Korean sauce was delicious. Definitely recommend. šŸ³ Black Truffle Chawanmushi: Served in an exquisite little bowl. My first time trying it—it was incredibly umami. The steamed egg contained shrimp, scallops, fish roe, a drizzle of black truffle sauce, and a piece of sea urchin. The whole dish was bursting with savory flavors, though it got a tad salty toward the end (blame the roe and scallops!). Still, absolutely delicious. šŸ£ Mango Foie Gras Sushi: If you’re craving foie gras, you might be disappointed. The nori (seaweed) overpowered the foie gras, and even the mango flavor was barely noticeable. Not my top recommendation. ā¬†ļø Sushi Trio (Sea Urchin, Salmon, Tuna): Same issue with the sea urchin sushi—the nori was too strong. The salmon was rich and fatty, topped with a bit of miso sauce—so good! The tuna was less memorable, but still better than the sea urchin one lol. šŸ¢ Wagyu Beef Skewer & Chicken Skewer (can be discussed together with Fig 7): Their grilled skewers are incredibly tender! The chef clearly knows their stuff—perfectly cooked, not dry at all. The Wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth soft thanks to its high fat content, while the chicken had a pleasant chew. Both highly recommended! 🐟 Grilled Fish Jaw: Really fragrant and well-prepared! The fish jaw had a nice balance of fat and meat. As a fan of this cut, I loved it. 🄩 Pan-Seared Steak: Pretty average—maybe because it had cooled down by the time I tried it. I prefer fattier cuts of beef, and the vinegar-based sauce drizzled on top wasn’t really my thing. šŸš Fried Rice: Fried rice lovers, go for it! Packed with ingredients and well-seasoned. The little wheat decoration on the side of the plate was cute, too. šŸ² Sukiyaki Beef Udon: By the time I got to this dish, I was already pretty full, so it tasted fairly standard—classic sukiyaki flavor. Solid but not standout. šŸœ Seafood Soba Noodles: A recommended main dish! Though I was too full from earlier courses to fully appreciate it. šŸ“Œ Final Thoughts: For mains, prioritize the fried rice and soba noodles! This restaurant combines beautiful ambiance, photogenic dishes, and great flavor—highly recommended! Perfect for a date night! šŸ’‘ I forgot to take pics of the interior, so here are some photos from Google. šŸ“ Address: 1732 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73106 šŸ’µ Price: $50–100 per person (depending on order) #Oklahoma #OklahomaCity #JapaneseCuisine #FoodPhotography
