🇺🇸 Portland | 5th Visit – Must-Try Food List + Hidden Gems Review
My fifth time visiting Portland! This time I focused on trying new, lesser-known spots—and almost all were delicious! Here’s my list: 🍽️ Main Meals Phoenix City Seafood Restaurant You can bring fresh seafood from nearby markets for them to cook! We ordered normally: Typhoon Shelter Crab 🦀 and Dry-Fried Beef Ho Fun were both great. Master Kong Thought it was just a jianbing place—but surprised! Clam congee 🥣, stir-fried pea shoots, braised beef noodle soup 🍜, and xiaolongbao were all tasty. Staff were super friendly. They just launched new iced lemon tea 🍋 and Thai milk tea—my verdict: amazing! I even took two extras to go. Prices very reasonable! Hamano Sushi Perfect sushi stop while downtown 🍣. Sushi, nigiri, and tempura all fresh and satisfying. Kinn Kao Northern Thai Kitchen Got takeout Thai 🍛. Except for the oversweet Thai tea, the spicy coconut curry noodles and basil stir-fry were solid. Fish-San Near the Saturday Farmers Market 🥬. Poke bowl was fresh, and complimentary miso soup was nice. Other Favorites from Previous Visits Somtum Thai: My forever love 💚 Powell Seafood: Even better than Phoenix Murata, Andina, Ox: Highly recommend these three! Nong’s Khao Man Gai, Luc Lac, LeCHON, Broder Nord: Popular and worth the hype Matt’s BBQ, Matt and Memere’s: For food truck culture 🚚 🍧 Drinks & Desserts La Rose Patisserie: Cheese bread was fluffy and delicious 🧀Behind the Museum Cafe: Matcha ice cream was a highlight 🍵Kulfi: Mango milk ice bar—absolutely divine! 🥭❄️Cafe Ume: Everything was a bit too sweet for me… 🍡 Other Previously Visited Favorites Less and More Coffee, Wailua Shave Ice, Twisted Croissant, Berlu Bakery, Bella’s Italian Bakery, My Favorite Cake: All lovely! ☕🧁 Portland Japanese Garden, Lan Su Garden, Muji: Not primarily food spots, but their drinks are interesting and unique 🍹🎍 #Portland #PortlandEats #PortlandFood #ExplorePortland #FoodReview #HiddenGems #TravelDiary
