🇺🇸 Sedona 4-Day, 3-Night Trip 🏜️🌵 | A Desert Escape
Flew round-trip from Seattle to Phoenix… Seattle winters can be so gloomy — so we headed to AZ for some sun and dry desert air! ☀️🚗 We stayed at Amara Resort — highly recommend! 🏨 Booked with Amex and got a $100 credit (for breakfast or spa) with a 2+ night stay. 📅 Itinerary: Day 1️⃣ ✈️ Arrived in Phoenix → picked up rental car → drove to Sedona (~2.5 hours) 📍 Chapel of the Holy Cross Small chapel — takes about 15 mins. Parking wasn’t bad even with crowds. 📍 Bell Rock Trail Kid-friendly and well-marked… but many climbers go all the way up (and often slide back down on their bottoms — risky! 😅) 🍽️ Cowboy Club Specializes in bison dishes — tasty and chewy! Very American Wild West vibe. 🤠 Day 2️⃣ 😴 Slept in → left around 11 am 📍 Subway Cave (via Boynton Canyon Trail) Unofficial trail — about 3 hours round trip. Final climb requires scrambling (no railings!). 🔵 Blue McDonald’s 📍 2380 W State Rte 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336 🍝 Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante (booked one day ahead) Not truly “fine dining” — prices were fair! ✅ Do: Lamb chop with green sauce — tender and flavorful! Tiramisu was amazing! ❌ Avoid: Seafood pasta was just okay. Day 3️⃣ 🛌 Another slow morning — out by 10 am 📍 Devil’s Bridge Official trail → navigate to parking lot (limited spots — luck-based!). Hike took ~3 hours. Easier than Subway Cave. ➡️ At the fork: choose “road” (shorter but rougher) or “trail” (longer but smoother). We took road going, trail returning. 🍴 Elote Cafe Walked in at 5:10 PM — got a table! Duck and lamb were recommended — duck was delicious! Appetizer: corn dip 🌽 + dessert: ice cream — both must-tries! Day 4️⃣ 🚗 Drove back to Phoenix 🐾 Sedona is super pet-friendly! Bring your dog along — they’ll love it too! 🐕 #Sedona #TravelGuide #Arizona #DesertEscape #PetFriendly
