🇺🇸 Sedona Must-Eat Mexican Restaurant: Elote Cafe 🌮

During my trip to Sedona, I researched many highly-recommended restaurants and was lucky to secure a reservation a month in advance at the “internet-famous” Elote Cafe — known for often being fully booked two months ahead! This Mexican restaurant offers a creative and surprising twist on traditional flavors. Here’s what we ordered (2-person meal, recommendations taken!): 1️⃣ Elote 🌽 A signature appetizer named after the restaurant. It’s a flavorful mix of corn kernels tossed in savory and slightly spicy sauces, served with crispy tortilla chips. Sweet, smoky, and delicious — highly recommend! 2️⃣ Lamb Adobo 🍖 The lamb shank was incredibly tender — it fell right off the bone! Marinated in a tangy and slightly sweet sauce with no gaminess. Served with rice and black bean puree — a healthy and satisfying combo. 3️⃣ Duck Carnitas 🦆 Shredded duck with a roasted/crispy texture — tasted almost like Chinese roast duck! Served with avocado mash and pita bread. Good, but the lamb was the real star. 4️⃣ Pastel De Elote 🍰 The BEST dessert! A warm corn cake with a crispy crust, topped with cream, a scoop of ice cream, and drizzled with syrup. Eat it all in one spoonful — an unforgettable mix of temperatures and textures. A must-order! Overall, Elote Cafe is absolutely worth the hype. Aside from being hard to book (walk-ins not accepted), the food is exceptional and service is quick.
