🇺🇸 Study Abroad Plog | Ann Arbor Food Guide 🌍🍽️

Here’s my food journey through Ann Arbor — a perfect mix of global flavors and cozy local spots! 1️⃣ Metzger‘s German Restaurant 🇩🇪 A taste of Germany that strangely reminded me of home (Northeastern Chinese cuisine 😂). The sauerkraut was tangy and slightly sweet — just like the homemade kind! 🍖 Must-tries: Pork shank, French onion soup, and cream soda. Portions are huge — come hungry! 2️⃣ Cannelle by Matt Knio 🇫🇷 A cute French pastry shop — perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat. 🥐 Croissants are a win (especially the chocolate-almond one!), though the tarts can be a bit sweet. 🍫 I’ve been having the chocolate-almond croissant for breakfast all week — not super crispy but so flavorful! 3️⃣ Mani Osteria & Bar 🇮🇹 Great vibes + great food = a perfect date spot 💕 🍕 The pizza was a tad salty but still delicious. 🍸 Loved the “Life is Beautiful” cocktail — sweet, sour, and floral! Definitely coming back. 4️⃣ Siam Square 🇹🇭 Authentic Thai in a cozy setting — felt like a family-run spot in Thailand! 🍖 Crispy pork belly (savory, sour, spicy — perfect with rice!) 🍍 Pineapple fried rice (would be better if it was a bit drier) 🍲 Tom Yum soup (slightly sweet but tasty) 🍚 Mango sticky rice + perfectly balanced Thai tea 😍 You can customize spice levels — big plus! 🌶️ 5️⃣ Palace Tang 🇨🇳 Comfort Chinese food done right! 🍅 Ordered the tomato & beef hot pot set — huge portion, lots of variety, super satisfying. 6️⃣ BBQ Chicken 🇰🇷 Stuck with my forever favorite — BBQ Chicken! 🍗 Soy Garlic wings are my go-to 🧄✨ (Note: Noori Chicken will have to wait till next time — I needed something familiar and reliable!) Ann Arbor won me over with its food and vibe — I already know I’ll be back! I spent three days just exploring Umich’s beautiful campus 🌳📚, and there’s still so much more to see — and eat! #StudyAbroad #SoloTravel #AnnArborEats #FoodAndTravel #Plog #RestaurantRecommendations #GlobalCuisine #UmichLife
