🇺🇸 Texas Travel | The Blue Ghost ⚓️ USS Lexington Museum 🔥
When you visit Corpus Christi, this massive ship docked along the coast is sure to catch your eye 👀! It’s the USS Lexington — one of the longest-serving U.S. aircraft carriers that saw action in World War II 🌊✈️. Nicknamed "The Blue Ghost," it’s now retired and transformed into an incredible military museum. And yes — you can explore the ENTIRE ship! 🚢🎉 The ship is divided into five main exhibition areas, each packed with displays. Audio tours are available to dive deeper into its history and give you an immersive feel of life and combat on board 🎧✨. 🔹 1️⃣ Flight Deck & Bridge See an impressive lineup of fighter jets and helicopters 🛩️🚁. The view of the harbor from here is also amazing 🌊📸. 🔹 2️⃣ Foc’sle (Forward Section) Features anchor chains, ropes, and mechanical equipment — one of the few technical areas open to the public ⚓🔧. 🔹 3️⃣ Gallery Deck Recreated crew living quarters including sleeping areas, dining halls, and the infirmary — full of retro details 🛏️🍽️. 🔹 4️⃣ Lower Decks Explore the engine room, power generators, and storage areas — the industrial heart of the ship 🏭⚙️. 🔹 5️⃣ Hangar Deck The largest exhibition space with interactive displays, a theater, and special exhibitions 🎬🛠️. ⚠️ Tips: Allow about 2 hours for the full tour. The route is one-way with very steep and narrow stairways — not suitable for those with mobility issues or elderly visitors. It can get hot and stuffy inside and on the decks, but exhibits are air-conditioned. Dress lightly and bring water! 🥤🧢 🎟️ Tickets: Adults $21.95 | Discounts for kids, seniors & military 🕘 Hours: Daily 9AM–5PM (last entry at 4PM) ✨ USS Lexington Museum 📍 2914 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78402 #AircraftCarrier #Warship #USSLexington #HoustonLife #TexasTravel #MuseumAdventure
