🌊 Texas Getaway｜Corpus Christi 📍

This is a classic coastal town nestled along the Gulf of Mexico. Its name comes from Spanish, meaning “Body of Christ.” While there aren’t tons of attractions here, it has its own unique charm. ⚓️ 1️⃣ USS Lexington A small and historic aircraft carrier named in memory of the Battle of Lexington and Concord. It’s compact and full of history — worth a quick visit! 🛳️👀 🎤 2️⃣ Selena Quintanilla Memorial The site where the beloved Tejano music icon Selena was tragically killed at just 23 years old. I remember watching a documentary about her life — such a dramatic and heartbreaking story involving embezzlement and fame 💔🎶. 🍔 3️⃣ Whataburger’s Hometown Corpus Christi is the birthplace of Whataburger! The original two-story location by the sea is the only one of its kind. Enjoy a burger with an ocean view — pretty cool, right? 🌊🍟 It’s about a 10-minute walk from the Selena memorial. ⚠️ A few downsides: As someone used to the bright blue Pacific, I found the Gulf waters here a bit gray and murky 😕. The humidity is no joke — mosquitoes are everywhere 🦟, and even our beachfront hotel couldn’t escape the damp.
