🇺🇸 Travel Journal / Surprisingly Sweet Little Rock!!!🧡

After the chaos of Memphis, I totally expected Little Rock to be super dangerous and rundown too — but it was nothing like that! 😮‍💨 Unfortunately, though, we ran into a massive rainstorm those few days. The downpour was so heavy on the highway that I could barely see the road… I really thought we were going to be stuck there. 🌧️🚗 When we arrived, Little Rock felt calm and pretty empty. Lots of greenery, super clean streets after the rain — it was refreshing! 🌿 Compared to Memphis, there were a few more high-rises. Not a ton, but enough to make it feel more modern. Most buildings are still classic red brick, with a bit of that old-school charm. 🧱 The next morning, we headed early to the Little Rock River Market downtown. It wasn’t open yet, so we just viewed it from a distance. Then we went all out taking photos by the two bridges! 📸 Pretty up close, though not exactly breathtaking. Highly recommend the Gateway Bridge Walking Biking Trail for great bridge shots! 🚴♀️ By the river park, there were Canadian geese… and one almost chased me! 😂🦆 That river is the Arkansas River — not sure if it was because of the weather, but the water level was low and the color was kind of grayish-yellow. Since it was so chilly, I decided to buy a jacket. Scarlet is a must-visit store — once you go in, it’s hard to leave! 🛍️ It’s like a curated boutique, and the owner has amazing taste. They carry a bunch of well-known brands. For lunch, we ate at Three Fold Noodles + Dumpling Co. | Pleasant Ridge. 🥟☕ I liked it better than the downtown location — the beef portions were huge, plus it was less crowded and they served coffee too! Overall, Little Rock felt wealthier and much less sketchy. Driving through rolling hills with tall trees on both sides was so scenic. 🍃 The neighborhoods felt kind of artsy and cozy, with beautifully designed houses (that looked expensive hehe). It’s quiet and weirdly warm-hearted here. Mostly white residents, and it had this unique vibe that’s hard to put into words. #USA#LittleRock#Arkansas #HiddenGems #RoadTrip #USATravel #CityAndNature
