Having lived in the Little Rock area for over 25 years, I have a historical experience with the creation and environment of the River Market District. Historically, I am an eyewitness to the conception and creation of the area. The River Market District with its milestone enclosed Pavilion is a small scale concept borrowed from the San Antonio, Texas river walk area. The geographic area where the River Market District exists was on a street full of old, dilapidated warehouses and abandoned buildings. I wasn’t particularly excited about any of them, but we parked along one of the metered streets & began our walk. We happened upon this little indoor food court type section & went in. I found one of the nicest Indian couples at a place called The Indian Feast, who were super helpful & I found exactly what I was looking for - An inexpensive, quick, warm, yummy meal! It was SO good.
