🇺🇸 Travelogue / Little Rock: Seemingly Sketchy but Actually Sweet!
After the "adventure" in Memphis, I expected Little Rock to be super dangerous and rundown too—but it totally wasn’t! 😮🌧️ Unfortunately, though, we ran into a massive rainstorm during our drive. The rain was so heavy on the highway that I could barely see the road. I honestly thought we might get stranded! When we arrived, Little Rock felt quiet, green, and incredibly clean—especially after the rain. 🌿🚗 Compared to Memphis, it has a few more high-rises. Not a ton, but enough to make it feel more modern. Most buildings are classic red brick, with a slightly vintage vibe. The next morning, we headed downtown early to the Little Rock River Market. It wasn’t open yet, so we just admired it from outside. Then we went all out taking photos by the bridges! 📸🌉 While not exactly breathtaking up close, they were pretty photogenic. Highly recommend the Gateway Bridge Walking Biking Trail for bridge pics! By the river park, we met some Canadian geese… and almost got chased. 😅🦆 The river is the Arkansas River—maybe because of the gloomy weather, the water level was low and the color was kinda murky. Since it was so chilly, I decided to buy a jacket. 🧥❤️ I highly recommend Scarlet—it’s like a curated boutique, and the owner has great taste. They carry several well-known brands. I went in and didn’t want to leave! For lunch, we ate at Three Fold Noodles + Dumpling Co. in Pleasant Ridge. 🥟🍜 I liked it even better than the downtown location—big chunks of beef, fewer people, and they even serve coffee! Overall, Little Rock feels wealthier and less sketchy. Driving along the hilly roads surrounded by tall trees was super scenic. 🚙🍃 The wealthy neighborhoods are cozy and artsy, with beautifully designed (and probably expensive) houses. It’s quiet, warm, and has a unique vibe that’s hard to describe—a bit more white-dominated, with a distinctive atmosphere. #OC #StudyInTheUS #LifeIsAnExperience #DailyCampusLife #UnderratedCities #SlowTravelUS
