🇺🇸 Washington D.C. | Thompson D.C. Hotel Review
Even though my apartment is still a mess, I really needed a weekend getaway from New York! 🏙️💨 So I headed down to Washington D.C. for a quick escape. I originally booked the Ritz-Carlton, but then I stumbled upon the Thompson D.C. and changed my mind last minute—and I’m so glad I did! The stay was absolutely wonderful 😊💫 We got upgraded to a River View Junior Suite with amazing natural light 🌅. On our first night, we even caught a fireworks show right outside our window—so magical! 🎆💖 The room wasn’t huge, but hey, it had a separate shower and tub (which is rare in the U.S.—already feeling grateful 🙏). The amenities were super thoughtful—they even provided makeup remover wipes! 🧴✨ Breakfast was à la carte 🍳☕—each order included a main dish plus coffee or juice. We tried a few different dishes blindly, and everything was delicious! The FHR credit worked at all the hotel restaurants, and we used ours at the Bar Room. No regrets—especially the roasted chicken, which was incredibly tender! 🍗😋 Not sure if it’s just D.C. hospitality, but every staff member here was exceptionally nice. Shoutout to Million, one of the bellmen—every time we saw him, he offered us water. A little extra, but so sweet! 💧👏 The hotel is located right by the river, perfect for strolls and sunset views 🌇🚶. It’s not right next to the White House, but most attractions are just about 10 minutes away by Uber. Super convenient! You can even walk to Union Station 🚉. Have you stayed at the Thompson D.C. before? What’s your favorite hotel in the capital?
