🇺🇸 Washington DC | 2-Day Power Walk Through America's Heart 🏛️🚶‍♂️

From the White House to the Washington Monument – walked from dusk till dark! All major DC landmarks are within walking distance (around 20,000 steps 😅). One full day is enough to cover this central area. 📌 Pro tips: Book Capitol tours in advance online. Washington Monument tickets also require reservations! 🏨 Stayed at the Park Hyatt – got upgraded to a suite! 🎉 The area is quiet with several hotels clustered together. Just a 15-minute walk to Georgetown 🛍️, and below it lies a lovely lakeside park with sightseeing boats ⛵ – highly recommend if you have time! 🎂 Celebrated my birthday (in China timezone!) at DC’s Michelin two-star restaurant: Jont ⭐⭐ Hard to find, reservations needed (same-day morning bookings might be possible!). Only 14 seats, two dinner shifts (3 hours each). Chef’s menu: $375/person without drinks. With pairing, ~$1100 for two. Honest review: Franco-Japanese fusion felt overhyped 🍣🥖 – good ingredients but lacked wow factor. Desserts are served at the bar. Birthday dessert was complimentary 🍰. Worst part: The drinks (especially non-alcoholic pairing) tasted like ginseng chicken soup 😖🍷 🍜 MUST-TRY: Pho75 in Virginia A bowl of heaven! 💫 Cash only (ATM onsite), no appetizers, no tips required. Fast turnover, authentic, and packed with flavor – my go-to pho spot since my Hong Kong days! 🎨 Before leaving, visit the Smithsonian American Art Museum 🖼️ Free entry! 🆓 Allow 2 hours – don’t miss the U.S. Presidents exhibition. The central courtyard is breezy and perfect for relaxing or studying 🌿📚 🌟 Overall: DC feels clean, spacious, and orderly (almost too perfect – less gritty than NYC, more dignified). Wide roads, less chaos, but also a bit less “soul” – still, a beautiful capital experience! #NorthAmericanLife #DCfood #MichelinStar #WeekendGetaway #WashingtonTravel #CityWalk #TravelUSA #PhoLovers #ArtMuseum 🏛️🍜🎨
