๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Washington DC | 2-Day Power Walk Through the Heart of America

From the White House to the Washington Monument, we walked from dusk till dark ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐ŸŒ†. Most of DCโ€™s iconic landmarks are concentrated in one area โ€” you can cover them all in about 20,000 steps, but that basically means dedicating an entire day to this central zone. Pro tip: Both the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument require advance reservations! ๐Ÿจ This time, I stayed at the Park Hyatt โ€” and lucked out with a suite upgrade! ๐ŸŽ‰ The area has several high-end hotels, so itโ€™s quiet and peaceful. Itโ€™s about a 15-minute walk to Georgetown. Below Georgetown lies a beautiful lakeside park โ›ฒ โ€” if you have time, donโ€™t miss the sightseeing boats! ๐ŸŽ‚ It was my birthday (in Chinaโ€™s time zone) while I was in DC, so I decided to celebrate at Jont, a two-Michelin-star restaurant โญโญ. Hard to find location? โœ… Reservations needed a day in advance? โœ… Only 14 seats? โœ… Dinner is served in two seatings, each lasting 3 hours. The chefโ€™s tasting menu costs $375 per person (without drinks). With wine pairing, our total came to around $1,100 for two. Overall impression: The French-Japanese fusion felt underwhelming. The ingredients were high-quality, but the execution felt overdone. Desserts are served at the bar โ€” and yes, they give you a complimentary treat if itโ€™s your birthday! ๐Ÿฐ The biggest letdown? Their drinks โ€” especially the non-alcoholic pairing, which tasted like ginseng chicken soup in every glass ๐Ÿฅฒ. ๐Ÿœ But letโ€™s talk about the real highlight: DCโ€™s PHO! As someone who used to eat pho twice a week in Hong Kong (it was my substitute fo!), I highly recommend Pho75 in Virginia. Cash only (thereโ€™s an ATM inside) No appetizers No tipping expected Extremely delicious, generous portions, and authentic flavors โ€” totally worth the trip! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ If you have some extra time before leaving, check out the Smithsonian American Art Museum ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. Free entry ๐ŸŽ‰ Takes about 2 hours to explore Features an exhibition of U.S. presidents The central courtyard is open-air and super refreshing โ€” a great place to relax or even get some work done! ๐ŸŒŸ Overall, Washington DC feels clean, spacious, and almost too perfectly planned โ€” especially compared to New York. Itโ€™s less gritty, more majestic, and carries a sense of solemnity and order. #LifeInNorthAmerica #DCfood #MichelinStarExperience #WeekendGetaway #WashingtonTravel #Michelin2Star #CityWalk #USTravel ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโœจ
