🇺🇸 Washington DC | Former Michelin-Star Spot: Blue Duck Tavern 🦆

This place is one of DC’s most famous restaurants — it used to hold a Michelin star, and even Obama was a fan! 🏆🇺🇸 I’ve been here 7–8 times over the years. Overall, great service, ambiance, food, and fair pricing. Here’s what I always order: 🍖 Wood Roasted Bone Marrow – $29 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Their signature dish! Rich roasted marrow spread on bread, with garlic and butter — absolutely incredible. The seasoning is on point. Way better than the pork marrow I tried at Purple Pig in Chicago! 🦀 Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes – 26 / 52 🌟🌟🌟 Packed with real crab meat — totally worth it. The sauce complements it well. A half-portion (one cake) is enough for two — any more can feel heavy. 🍖 Roasted Rohan Duck Breast – $45 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A must-order every time! Comes with duck breast and leg — I prefer the leg, but both are tender and flavorful. Served with fig jam that cuts the richness nicely. Fair warning: this dish can be inconsistent — amazing sometimes, just okay others. 🍟 Hand-Cut BDT Triple Fries – $15 🌟🌟🌟 Classic fries, but honestly, too greasy for me. Only ordered once. Maybe good for sharing in a big group. 🥩 Braised Beef Ribs – Price Forgotten 🌟🌟🌟 Couldn’t find it on the current menu — decent but not unforgettable. Huge portion though — too much for two. 🐟 Wood-Fired Whole Fish – $70 🌟🌟🌟 Tender and delicious — even if my photo didn’t do it justice! 💬 Final Thoughts: The only downside? Not enough veggie options 🥗. With so many heavy meat dishes, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Prices aren’t low, but two people can share a few dishes. Expect to pay $120–200 after tax and tip (without wine). #DMVfood #WashingtonDC #MichelinEats #RestaurantRecommendation #DCfoodie #BlueDuckTavern
