๐บ๐ธ Washington DC | How to Explore DC in 3 Days & 2 Nights
This fall break, I went on a 3-day trip with my NYU friends โ our first trip together! We chose Washington DC since itโs super close to New York. Although the vibe between us and DC wasโฆ a bit dramatic ๐ , overall, the city felt much more serious and organized compared to NYC. Think white marble buildings + lush green lawns + bright blue skies โ the classic trio! โ๏ธ๐๏ธ๐ฟ I really liked DC โ such a chill and livable city. Reminded me a lot of North Carolina! ๐บ๏ธ Almost all the must-see spots are located around the National Mall. Check the last image for the map โ all attractions are marked! The area can be divided into left, middle, and right sections: โฌ ๏ธ Left Side: White House โ Vietnam Veterans Memorial โ Lincoln Memorial โ WWII Memorial โ Tidal Basin โ Washington Monument ๐ค Middle: MUSEUMS! National Gallery of Art, Air & Space Museum, Natural History Museum, and more. โก๏ธ Right Side: Peace Monument โ U.S. Capitol โ Capitol Hill You can start from the White House and follow this route from left to right to cover all the highlights! Since Iโm not a huge museum person ๐ผ๏ธ, I only went to the National Gallery of Art โ pretty classic, similar to the one in Chicago but bigger. Nothing super surprising, but still beautiful. Instead, I focused on more fun and modern museums! I highly recommend: ๐ต๏ธ International Spy Museum โ needs ticket ๐๏ธ but totally worth it! Super interactive and entertaining. Student discount available โ bring your ID! ๐ฎ National Postal Museum โ all about stamp history ๐ฆโ๏ธ, and you can even make your own stamp! They also give out 6 free vintage stamps per person โ so cool! I ended up buying beautiful stamp collections from the gift shop as souvenirs for friends. Food recommendations will be in a separate post โ stay tuned! ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ #WashingtonDC #DCTravel #USCapital #TravelGuide #TravelTips #FallBreak
