🇺🇸 Washington DC — All These Attractions Are FREE! ✨

🏨 Morrison-Clark Historic Inn Centrally located — everything is within walking distance! This was the coziest, most home-like hotel of my U.S. trip. 📍 1011 L St NW, Washington, DC 20001 ▪️ Capitol Hill Free entry, but advance online reservation is required❗️A guided tour takes about 1 hour. Afterward, be sure to visit the service desk to schedule tours of the House and Senate. Security is strict — remember to bring your ID. Unfortunately, we visited during summer recess 😭, otherwise we might have seen Kamala Harris. ▪️ Washington Monument Free but limited access — very hard to get tickets‼️Some people start lining up as early as 7 AM. We got incredibly lucky — a kind American family who had extra tickets for the next day gave them to us! Security is tight. It offers the best panoramic view of DC. ▪️ The White House I’ve heard you need to book 2-3 months in advance to tour inside‼️We only walked around outside. The street was temporarily closed, and we even saw Biden’s Marine One helicopter 🚁 landing at the White House — a surreal experience! ▪️ Lincoln Memorial You can walk here from the Washington Monument. The center features a seated statue of Lincoln. Sitting by the Reflecting Pool on a summer evening is so peaceful. It was here in 1963 that Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. ▪️ Library of Congress Just a 3-minute walk from the Capitol. This federal cultural institution is the largest library in the world — and it’s free to enter! The interior is absolutely stunning and beautiful! 📚✨ ▪️ National Air and Space Museum Free entry with advance online reservation❗️Seeing the Apollo 11 module from the first moon landing was awe-inspiring. There are also original audio recordings from the mission — definitely worth a visit! Also featured: the Wright brothers' first successful airplane. ▪️ National Museum of Natural History Free entry, no reservation needed. Loads of animal specimens — very fun and great for kids! 🦖🐋 ▪️ National Gallery of Art Free, no reservation required!
