🇺🇸 Washington DC is Perfect for a Weekend Trip! 🚀
I had a long weekend during a business trip and decided to spend Monday exploring DC. I was too busy to plan ahead, so I went full go-with-the-flow mode – and it turned out amazing! I used to think DC was just a boring capital city, but it’s actually so clean, green, and beautiful. If it weren’t for the blazing sun and a tight schedule, it would’ve been even more relaxing. One day was a bit rushed, but DC is absolutely ideal for a weekend getaway! 🏛️💚 Here’s my ultra-condensed itinerary: 🚲 Getting around: I walked over 23,000 steps and biked for 1.5 hours 🫠. Highly recommend Capital Bikeshare or Lime – get a day pass, pick up/drop off bikes easily around the city. 🛬 Arrived at DCA (the closer airport) at 9 AM, dropped my luggage at a Bounce location downtown (book in advance!). 🥞 Brunch at Old Ebbitt Grill Opened in 1856 – Washington’s oldest saloon! Good value, huge portions (or maybe I’m just not used to American sizes 😂). 🏛️ Tourist loop (in order): White House (super crowded but fun!) Constitution Gardens 🌿 Lincoln Memorial & Reflecting Pool Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bureau of Engraving and Printing 💵 Booked the tour same morning – spots open early! 45-min tour showing how money is printed (no photos allowed) Saw more cash than I’ll ever make in my life… 😭 National Air and Space Museum (only one I booked ahead!) National Gallery of Art U.S. Capitol I missed a few spots like the Library of Congress (closed Mondays 😢) – but that just means I’ll have to come back next year! #WashingtonDC #WhiteHouse #USTravel #WeekendTrip #TravelGuide #DC
